Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

I was reminded of this by Simply Life N Me, a woman after my own heart.  Green Day isn’t everybody’s cuppa tea but there are many of their songs that speak to my heart… apart from that it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to, first time I saw them was at Reading 2001 where they got members of the crowd up on stage to play this song… they then naturally burnt their equipment for greater effect… the words remained one of the truest though.

In the end, no matter what life throws your way make sure that you remember the good times and the lessons learnt, have the time of your life and never stop smiling…

Another turning point
A fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist
Directs you where to go
So make the best of this test
And don’t ask why
It’s not a question
But a lesson learned in time
It’s something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

So take the photographs
And still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in
Good health and good time
Tattoos of memories
And dead skin on trial
For what it’s worth
It was worth all the while
It’s something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

[Instrumental Break]

It’s something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

It’s something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

  1. also one of my fav’s as well, but when you read the lyrics they are great but really really sad…

My shadow’s only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart’s the only thing that’s beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
    Til then I walk alone

Reminds me of my Friendship post, of the dark times…
