Rules for being human…

1. You Will Receive A Body
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.

2. You Will Learn Lessons
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called Life. Each day in this school, you will have the opportunity to learn lessons – you may like the lesson or think them irrelevant and stupid.

3. There Are No Mistakes, Only Lessons
There is a process of trial and error; experimentation. The ‘failed’ experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately ‘works’.

4. A Lesson Is Repeated Until It Is Learned
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning Lessons Does Not End.
There is no part of Life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6. ‘There’ Is No Better Than ‘here’.
When your ‘there’ has become a ‘here’, you will simply obtain another ‘there’ that will again look better than ‘here’.

7. Others Are Merely Mirrors Of You.
You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What You Make Of Your Life Is Up To You.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your Answers Lie Inside You.
The answers to Life’s questions lie inside you. All you need do is look, listen and trust.

10. You Will Forget All This.

11. You Can Remember It Whenever You Want

  1. Ah! So true, so true… Wouldn’t it be amazing to have an actual Handbook Of Life sort of thing? It’s so hard to see life from a distance as you put it here, and it would be so good if we could remember to try once in a while!

  2. You hold a knowledge and wisdom few comprehend… I have been learning more and more about life… I have been taught many truths and have endured many lessons… as have you my friend… thank you for sharing your light and knowledge… that should also be a rule… I believe you follow this…

  3. So very true. At times I realize that I’m repeating the class over and over again; but the instructor always gives me a chance to pass the lesson . . . although I’m in the slow class. Ditto Enreal’s comment; especially what she says about you dearest SF. PLL, CordieB.

  4. O dear, Am I too new on your board not to agree on some of these 🙂 Here are some amendments

2- there are no lessons – each days experiences are unique and will never be repeated again – but because your brain is so used to chunking everything down – it seems to you that experiences are repeated but they are not.

3- there are indeed mistakes (though not as often as one might think) and from these you might learn a thing or two – but the thing is – it was still a mistake!

    4 – see 2 🙂
