Why is it that people always seem to belittle others when they are trying their damnedest to get something right, why can’t they just encourage? Instead of a “you can do it” you get laughter and “ha ha you can’t do it”, instead of encouragement you get belittled to the point where you feel that your self esteem hits an all time low, you’re made to feel so small that you’d rather not try because you actually feel better when you don’t.
Why on earth do people do this?
It’s one of the things that always got to me growing up, no matter what I tried to do my mother would always sit there and laugh at me… If I tried to cook a meal she would laugh, if I tried to help around the house she would laugh, if I tried to do a puzzle she would laugh, if I hurt myself she would laugh, if I did anything she would laugh. It always got me down and made me feel so small and pathetic. It is the one thing I am continually trying to overcome, the fear of trying new things that is why when I do I always find it easier to try it out on my own with out the possibility of someone laughing at me.
Adults, people, how come we are as we are?
