Music is my world, this song has been playing quite a bit recently … for some reason my player likes it a lot so I torture you with it now as well.
Collective Soul can never be torture though
Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all the kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don’t know why.
Don’t know why.
So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
‘Cause it’s the world I know.
Ooooh it’s the world I know.
Are we listening?
Hymns of offering.
Have we eyes to see?
Love is gathering.
All the words that I’ve been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.
Into one.
So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
‘Cause it’s the world I know.
Ooooh it’s the world I know.
So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
‘Cause it’s the world I know.
Ooooh it’s the world I know.

The World I Know video came out in 1995 when I was 33. It reminds me of 1985 when I sobered up, left a woman 23 years older than me, and volunteered for a Project Charlie. I was the only man and I would write each day on the board in front of third and fifth graders, “You Are Somebody Special.” It was the 80’s and they thought we could provide inspiring self-esteem to keep kids off drugs. I was volunteering as a newsman at a public radio station. But the most sustainable way to feed people is volunteer work I’m still doing today after 20 years teaching spiritual truth systematically and face to face. I’m not above the world. I live in a 1969 Delta mobile home and drive 1999 cars. I cried again and again watching this video because I am so much better off than the rest of the world. I want to…

One of the greatest truths in this world is the fact that there is always someone worse off that you are, sad but true and humbling at the same time. Such is life, thank you for doing what you do for the people around you, the world needs more of you for sure!
Thanks again!

The truth is I don’t know how I got here except through some Boolean search just randomly searching for something. So I read a few items and decided to hang out. I never did find sanity in this world until the spirit handed me an invitation to climb up and see the big picture. Down in the streets in the endless maze of web sites I became a human doing busy going about business with a million things to do. From up there I saw the connections. Human suffering, global warming, war. It took me about five years to get it. Animals see the same things I do but they do not have the capacity to understand beyond survival, reproduction, territory. You and I have the capacity to understand, to see the connections, to recognize actions by invisible forces. It is considered insane to see such meaning, to have spirit.
