Why do we fear it so much??? We run and hide from it and then the next day we want it to speed up only to find the next day that we wish for it to stand still.
We never seem to be happy with time nor its speed, why is this? Perhaps it is because we ourselves have no faith in it, or perhaps it is because we fear outcomes, we fear the pain we know we might feel, we fear that the day might never happen again leaving us with but a few happy memories of the best day of our lives. We seem to stunt it and forget that there will be other days, better days than before.
There is a time and place for everything in our lives, some might disagree with me on this I welcome it but have you ever tried to cheat time and find that the outcome is a disaster, or that things didn’t quite work out how you thought they would?
Sometimes the problems and trials that we face in life are like that splinter wedged painfully in your flesh, so often we fear the pain of taking it out that we leave it in, it festers and goes sceptic. If we take the splinter out when we find it we go through pain and it hurts like hell but it heals, heals faster because we allowed ourselves time to take it out and didn’t try to delay it. So often we fear time thinking that it is no friend of ours, we know that ultimately we need to make a decision, one that will bring pain. We talk ourselves out of things that we feel deep down within us, we make up excuses and run with them, swearing by it. We aren’t lying to anyone else but ourselves, we are trying to protect ourselves in a sense only to do more damage. The biggest problem though is that by doing this we tend to stunt our spiritual growth, we prevent the lessons we need to learn and we could, quite possibly, be missing out on the little miracles that were in store for us if we had just followed our hearts, our souls.
On the other hand sometimes we want it to speed up, we are like kids that can’t wait for Christmas morning to open the presents. The mere fact that we have to wait drives us nuts and we often just want to jump ahead of time and pounce on our hopes, goals and dreams. I was like this with my British Work Visa application, all I wanted was for it happen, get the papers screw everything else. Time stunted me, it stopped me in my tracks, it through hurdles at me almost as if to keep me on the right path, in the right direction for my destiny. It was my friend without me even realising it, it was undercover secret agent doing what I thought was working against me when in actual fact it was doing me the greatest favour of all.
Everything happens for a reason and has its own time and place. Spiritually we are forever evolving, to help us evolve each of has to go through different things at different times, no one is this same or has the same set of circumstances. Each lesson is like a medal on our sleeves that enables us to take on the next challenge, each beautiful day that we are given it is to remind us that things are right, we are going along the right path even though at times it might be scary as hell and most definitely not feel like it.
So often we try to run before we can even walk never mind crawl and then we wonder why we fall and fall hard. Once we know how to run and we try to crawl again a similar thing happens, our “bodies” start aching, our “knees” get bruised and often we can bleed from the odd table corner jutting out that we forgot was there. If we try to slow down or fast forward the order of things we are in effect preventing and holding ourselves back from both our true selves and our true destiny.
Time is our friend it works according to what our inner selves need, it knows the pace it needs to go like the sun setting in the west and rising in the east, it is the magician of life and knows best, no matter how hard we try cheating it only stunts us.
Live for today, breathe for today and feel what needs to be felt, the greater purpose is always revealed…
Live!
Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time…
And who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only in time…
(interlude)
dee dah day, dee dah day, dee dah day
dee dah doe day doe, dee doe day doe
Who can say why your heart sighs,
As your love flies?
Only in time…
And who can say why your heart cries,
When your love lies?
Only in time…
(interlude)
dee dah day, dee dah day, dee dah day
dee dah doe day doe, dee doe day doe
Who can say when the roads meet,
That love might be,
In your heart.
And who can say when the day sleeps,
If the night keeps all your heart?
Night keeps all your heart…
(long interlude)
dee dah dah dah
dee dah dah dah
dee dah dah dah
dee dah dah dah
Who can say if your love grows,
As your heart chose?
Only in time…
And who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only in time…
Who knows?
Only in time…
Who knows?
Only in time…

Boy does this remind me of a conversation I had recently when someone was just wanting so bad to speed up their soul. Gosh. Its amazing isn’t it? Like Deja vous?

Time is so interesting to me, because I do notice that the more focused I am on the speed of it passing, the faster it goes!!! When I simply enjoy the moments, as they are with me, for the good and the painful ones, I experience them at a beautiful pace.
The other challenge that my partner and I speak about regarding time is whether or not are time is well spent; I don’t ever think that any event or circumstance is a waste of my time, because how ever I am using the time, it is the best way, and has lessons within it…. V.

How true, I like the way you put it as well as the fact of whether we use it well enough. I think the latter is priority above all in a sense, we have to make use of our time but then also not push the boundaries of our destinies because we will come undone, well from my experience 🙂 Thanks for your comment as always enlightening and true A
